Meet the Wellness Works Team

​                                                            Dr. Greg Welk
​

​Dr. Welk is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology with broad interests focused on the intersections of physical activity (PA) and public health. He leads the Physical Activity and Health Promotion (PAHP) lab in the department and conducts research on PA assessment techniques and the application of these tools for various research, surveillance and PA promotion applications.

Shannon is a graduate student in the Department of Kinesiology. She is completed a 1 year Public Health AmeriCorps experience prior to graduate school and contributes to coordination of Wellness Works and the Spring into Summer initiative through the PAHP lab.

                                                      Mingyue Zhang

Mingyue is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Kinesiology, specializing in physical activity and health promotion. His research focuses on the dissemination of the Walk with Ease program in clinical and community settings. He is passionate about bridging research and practice to create sustainable health programs. He plays key technical roles in the project by managing the online WWE portal and coordinating registrations and information from Smartsheet.

                                                    Madhawa Perera

 Madhawa Perea is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Kinesiology, specializing in physical activity and health promotion. His research focuses on global physical activity epidemiology and effective interventions to promote physical activity in different segments of the population. Madhawa helps to coordinate the WWEW programming and the integration with the Spring into Summer initiative. He also manages data and leads program evaluation methods.
