Walk with Ease (WWE) is an evidence-based physical activity intervention that is widely used across the country. The programming was developed by the Arthritis Foundation and is now widely disseminated across the country in collaboration with the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors and the National Osteoarthritis Action Alliance. The ISU Physical Activity and Health Promotion (PAHP) lab has been facilitating the coordination of Walk with Ease in Iowa in collaboration with a non-profit agency called CHPcommunity. Programming is available in both virtual (self-directed) and in-person (group) formats for individuals (Details are available at this link: http://www.walkwitheaseisu.org/ Worksite Programming: Our Wellness Works team has built on the robust national framework for WWE by adapting the intervention to work within worksite wellness settings. The six-week intervention program is well suited for worksite programming as it is designed to help individuals become more physically active through walking. See the associated link to worksite WWE. Community Programming: We have also set up an option for a 'community level' implementation that would support community campaigns designed to promote physical activity. See the associated link to community WWE. |
